Description
In recent years, the use of drilling pipes made of PVC instead of steel pipes in deep wells has been increasing rapidly. It is produced in two types: closed (flat) and filtered (strainer). The main factors in the widespread use of PVC deep well pipes are; They are lighter and easier to install than steel pipes. Although the pipe weights create axial stress during lowering into the well, both the pipe and the thread structure are strong enough to absorb these loads.
Sheet metal and plastic well pipes should be chosen depending on the soil structure. Since the well pipes are made of hard PVC, they are resistant to chemical effects such as acid and base. This ensures continuity and economy in the operation.
Plastic deep well pipes are divided into three classes according to their depth of use in normal ground or their pressure resistance.
Class 1 pipes are used in deep wells at depths of 300 m - 500 m,
Class 2 pipes are used in deep wells at depths of 100 m - 300 m,
Class 3 pipes are used in deep wells at depths of 0 m - 100 m.
Pipe Protection and Transport Considerations
During transportation, care should be taken to protect the threaded parts from impacts. During storage, they should be protected against deformation, sunlight and stacked on wooden blocks. Thread protectors on trapezoidal threaded pipes should not be removed until the pipes are to be used. Pipe threads should be coated with grease, etc., so that they can enter easily. Do not use oils, water and soap are sufficient. Do not apply glue to the pipe threads so that they hold well. The adhesive damages the teeth and melts the pipe. Pump selection should be made taking into account the inner diameter of the pipes.
